Dear Pine Grove Crossing Community,
We are writing to provide an update regarding a positive COVID-19 case in one of our associates that was identified today. This associate is experiencing mild symptoms and is resting comfortably at home. We were also notified this morning that a family member who recently participated in an outdoor visit with a Memory Care resident tested positive for COVID-19. This family member was asymptomatic during their visit and maintained the required social distancing and wore a mask.
Because the nature of the associate’s job required them to interact with residents in both Assisted Living and Memory Care, and based on the positive Memory Care family member who recently visited, we have made the decision to do community wide testing of all residents and testing of specific associates based on contact tracing. This testing is underway and will continue until complete. We also plan to do another round of community wide testing in one week to ensure that we have allowed for the proper incubation period to lapse from the time of possible exposure.
As you are all aware, over the course of COVID-19 (past four months), we have had two positive cases at Pine Grove Crossing; one associate and one resident during the 2nd week of May. We have remained free of any symptomatic or positive cases since that time. Our associates and residents have been extremely diligent in their infection control practices and our goal is to remain proactive and thorough in our efforts to keep everyone safe.
We continue to be in close communication with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) and Tri-County Health Department and will follow their direction and protocols, as well as those of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Governor’s office and our Medical Consultant, Dr. Gagandeep Singh.
We appreciate your patience and support as we carefully work through this situation. We do not currently have any other COVID-19 symptomatic residents or associates as of the time of this letter. We will provide an update to you as soon as we have results to share. It is imperative that any family members/loved ones who may be experiencing symptoms refrain from visiting. Additionally, we ask that if you experience any symptoms and have recently participated in an outdoor visit, that you notify the community immediately.
If you have any further questions, please reach out to Pine Grove Crossing’s Executive Director, Rita Waxon.
Sincerely,
Susie Finley and Tom Finley
