Our Way of Life

Pine Grove Crossing provides Assisted Living and Memory Care with a personal touch. We offer suites and 16-hour licensed nursing care, 7 days a week, to our residents. We chose Pine Grove’s location based on the expansive views of the Front Range it provides, with access to medical care at nearby Parker Adventist Hospital. Our professional, caring team is committed to giving our residents the service they require with a dignified approach. Our setting gives people all the comforts of home with the support they need to live well.

While we take great pride in our beautiful grounds, new building interiors, and extensive amenities, it is the people of Pine Grove Crossing which make us stand out among assisted and memory care senior living communities. Our management team and associates are each bright stars in their own right, bringing dedication and heart to every task and event.


Sheila Flaschberger

Vice President of Operations
For Sheila, helping Solera create an exceptional senior living experience catered to residents is a commitment she holds dear, inspired by the remembrance of a great aunt who faced memory loss. After graduating with a BA in dietetics, she began her career in the food and beverage area, working with multiple health care communities. That sparked an interest in all aspects of operations, so Sheila pursued and received her MBA, which led to serving as an associate executive director of a 474-unit community. Her experience includes overseeing various communities with Memory Care, Assisted Living and Independent Living throughout the U.S. and Canada. Helping Solera continue its focus on being different from the rest appeals to Sheila, who also likes to stand apart from the crowd. She’s been skydiving, avidly collects vinyl, is a foodie and, along with her husband, cares for parrots and rescue cats. Perfect vacation: a cabin in northern Wisconsin.

Nicole Russell

Community Specialist
Nicole Russell brings over 20 years of experience in the senior living industry to her position of Aspyre Director, having previously served as an Executive Director and, before that, holding a role where she created, implemented and trained team members for a companywide Alzheimer’s and dementia program. Her passion for Alzheimer’s and dementia care began at the age of seven when her grandmother, Josie, was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. Nicole visited her grandmother often and would see many residents that had no family or visitors. From that point on, she knew that this is what she wanted to do for the rest of her life, and spent the remaining years visiting not only her grandmother, but other residents too. Nicole enjoyed spending time with them and learned that no matter their age, they are still a person, can give back, have a voice, and have things to look forward to. They deserve to have a purpose, a voice, and a care team that is going to support them, love them and create a relationship with them. At every point in her career, she has poured her heart and soul into giving people the knowledge, understanding and empathy to work with those who have a memory impairment. Nicole’s approach is to provide Memory Care residents with the best care possible, and she brings a unique perspective to her work, having been in the position of family member, care giver and roles in between throughout her life. When away from work, she enjoys spending time with family, reading, traveling, trying new foods and going on walks and adventures. Nicole is a native of Littleton and has a husband and a blended family of eight children, as well as two grandchildren.

Kim Witt

Director of Sales and Marketing
Kim brings over 10+ years of professional experience in the Senior Living Industry. She developed a passion for serving seniors at young age through personal family experiences and volunteer efforts. Kim has worked in multiple levels of care in the industry including: Active Adult, Independent Living, Assisted Living and Memory Care. Her passion and areas of focus include: Resident Programs, Operations and Sales and Marketing. Kim was born and raised in Cincinnati, OH. She spent the majority of her professional experience working in Senior Living communities in Chicago, IL. Kim is excited to join Solera Senior Living, values company culture and is happy to work with the team at Pine Grove Crossing! In her free time, Kim enjoys spending time with family and friends especially her husband, son, and Labrador. She enjoys traveling, hiking, skiing, and Colorado sunshine!

Debbie Rumer

Sales Counselor
Debbie enjoyed a successful career in the insurance industry for over 30 years. Life happened and Debbie’s mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. And then the journey began. Downsizing, selling the family home, exploring assisted living communities and finally helping her mother settle in for this new phase of life. This experience changed not only her mother’s life but also the direction of Debbie’s career. Debbie decided she wanted to be a part of helping others through this time of transition in their senior years. Debbie grew up in the south but now calls Colorado her home. She enjoys life with her husband, 2 boys and 6 grandchildren which includes a twin boy and girl. Just ask her and she will be most happy to share their photos.

Alberto Borjos

Culinary Director
Alberto has seven years of experience working in the food industry with four of those years in the senior living industry. He was born in Florida and was raised in Honduras. Alberto has lived in Denver for the past seven years. His favorite food to cook is Hispanic cuisine! When he is not cooking in the Pine Grove Crossing kitchen, you can find him working on his cars.

Madelyn Axberg

Director of Life Enrichment
Madelyn’s passion for this industry started via a client relationship with AARP and her brother’s diagnosis with dementia. She knew there was an opportunity to make a positive impact in people’s lives and found that senior living was the best way to help. Madelyn’s goal is to provide meaningful and engaging activities for our seniors living in Pine Grove Crossing. Madelyn’s biggest achievement has been working in Life Enrichment for the past six years and enriching senior’s lives. She was raised in Puerto Rico and has lived in Colorado for the last 20 years. In Madelyn’s spare time she enjoys reading, spending time with her husband (Brad), and their sweet pets Ranger and Zorro.

Kristen Simbolon

Business Office Manager
Kristen has been surrounded by Senior Living ever since she was a child as her parents had been Medication Technicians and Wellness Nurses at multiple communities. She brings over 8 years of Senior Living experience to Pine Grove Crossing. Kristen has worked in Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care specializing in Customer Service, Human Resources, and more recently COVID-19 Response. She’s worked under multiple Business Office Directors and lead several teams for the past several years and is excited to finally take her starting steps towards the beginning of her career. Kristen enjoys being able to bring her high energy to the community and spreading it among the residents. In her free time, Kristen enjoys playing her violin and performing in pit orchestras. She also enjoys spending quality time with her cat, Monty Burns, and crocheting dice bags and scarves!

Dr. Megan Zartman DPT

Outpatient Clinic Director – INFINITY REHAB

Megan began her collegiate career with physical therapy in mind. Working as a lifeguard at a senior 55+ community, she discovered her love for working with older adults and individuals experiencing health challenges. Megan was accepted to the University of Pittsburgh as an undergraduate and pursued a major in Rehabilitation Sciences. After graduating Magna Cum Laude, she continued her schooling at the prestigious University of Pittsburgh Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. She took a special interest in geriatrics and vestibular therapy, graduating with her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in April 2016. Upon graduation, Megan embarked on the adventure of Travel PT. She enjoyed working travel contracts at skilled nursing facilities across the country, but ultimately decided to move to Colorado to pursue a full-time position in her favorite place on earth. She has been the Outpatient Therapy Clinic Director at Pine Grove Crossing since August 2018 and is passionate about improving the health outcomes and quality of life for these residents.
